In a recent landmark move last week the city of Ojai became the first local government in the country to pass an ordinance banning any type of smart meters from being installed on resident's homes. This is a move in the right direction and will likely spread to more cities and municipalities around the country. Ample evidence exists to support the assertion that smart meters are dangerous to health and open the door to violations of individual privacy. In addition, a growing number of local governments throughout California have stated their opposition to the dangerous smart grid technology. Media coverage of this important event can be viewed here. While the full article relating to this smart meter resistance can be read here. Stopping dangerous smart meter installations on residential homes with applicable laws must occur one city at a time.
